Eleni is a native of Buffalo, New York but discovered her love of the state of Vermont and agriculture while attending the University of Vermont and being involved in the CREAM program. Following her undergraduate education, she pursued a Master of Public Health degree from the University at Buffalo. Her masters thesis focused on zoonotic disease prevention and spillover events from animal to human populations. Prior to veterinary school, she worked for the local health department in Buffalo doing COVID surveillance during the early stages of the pandemic. While attending Cornell for veterinary school, she gained lots of experience in large animal and dairy production medicine through the Summer Dairy Institute and being involved with the student chapter of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners. She also worked for a research lab on campus that focused on antibiotic resistance and milk quality and safety. Eleni’s interests include infectious disease prevention in herds, milk quality, and small ruminant and equine preventative health. She plans to stay involved in research that benefits dairy producers and the industry as a whole. She intends to use her public health training and knowledge to keep the both large and small animal herds of Northern Vermont healthy.

Eleni is so excited to be back in Vermont permanently and get to know the surrounding community. When not working, she can be found outside either skiing, hiking, biking or kayaking with her longtime partner and dog. She also enjoys baking treats for her coworkers and loudly cheering on the Buffalo Bills!
