Earl grew up along the Upper Connecticut River Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont, working on a family farm. Earl’s childhood was full of oxen, draft horses, livestock, 4-H, FFA, tractors, and hay bales. He developed a passion for agriculture throughout his youth, and pursued an associate’s degree in Beef and Livestock Studies at SUNY Cobleskill, with the intent of returning to the family business. However, Earl chose to chase his passion for large animal health, and continued on to enroll in Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
While in veterinary school, Earl participated in extracurricular programs including Summer Dairy Institute and the Cornell Farrier Program. He developed strong dairy interest in regards to productivity, udder health, reproduction, and animal welfare.
In 2018, Earl was thrilled to join the Cold Hollow team and return to Northern Vermont. Earl enjoys the variety of clientele, and is driven to see their operations and individual animals succeed.
Earl’s free time is spent with his wife and two sons on their small homestead in Orleans, Vermont.
